First, community trackers now have cybercabs testing in 24 states and 88 cities. In just 20 days, that's two new states and 32 new cities, including one driving through Midtown Manhattan. Second, Germany came calling. Brandenburg's transport minister confirmed his ministry is in talks with Tesla about driverless shuttles for rural towns where the bus runs twice a day. Fourth, SpaceX and Nvidia announced they've designed a space version of the Vera Rubin system launching to orbit in Q4 next year as the first Star mind AI satellite. Elon says it's simpler, lower cost, denser, and lighter than a traditional rack. And finally, JP Morgan reiterated overweight on SpaceX with a $240 target pointing at cursors for a billion dollars in annual revenue, 75% of it from businesses. Here we go. Welcome, Joe. >> Good to be back. >> Let's talk uh first Tesla, then SpaceX, and it seems that a number of programs, businesses all seem to be having progress uh just over the last day here. First, let's do an update on all the spotting of where we've spotted Tesla cybercab. Thank you to Pagie who tracks this 24 of 50 states now and in 88 cities. Literally, 20 days later, Tesla enters two new states, 32 new cities in the last 20 days. This is where they're testing the Cybertruck app. We know that they've been doing it for a variety of reasons. One is of course it's a brand new car. So, they need to test this as much as they can cuz it's expected to be, you know, on the road 21 hours of 24 you know, 21 hours hours a day for as long as possible. This is a workhorse. But two, they're testing FSD as well in all sorts of um you know, environments. So, you can see all the different states where you can where it's been spotted. Um and all the cities that uh it's been spotted driving around. And then he even put a list down of the full list. Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida of course, Georgia, Illinois. That's kind of interesting. Massachusetts. And of course, we even have New York now. Buffalo, Queens, Midtown, Manhattan. I don't know they're testing in New Jersey, but I think they have a rule where they can't even have autonomous driving there. Uh and so forth. So, I'm looking forward to here in Washington state. Um not only in my area, but uh around the area as well. Uh thoughts on that, Joe? >> Yeah, good work, Pيج. Pيج did a great piece of work there, but it shows us what I'm saying. I also tweeted about that that I think we have between 1,000 2,000 Cybertrucks actually deployed. Not live of course, but deployed as cars sitting around the country. Including those with steering wheels of course, but that's many more than most people think. And this map just reflects what's going on. >> Yeah. Uh the Cybertruck app is uh launched. I'm actually invited to do all there on September 3rd. So, I'm excited uh to check that out. I'll be one of the very first Cybertrucks that you can hail in progress. Are you expecting that they'll be at least 10 do you think in Do you think just a handful? Is this just a Is this just Like if this was just a ceremonial hey we've launched it and then they have you know onesy-twosies that would be very disappointing. >> Yeah, I do think we have to be cautious with expectations but I do think it's more it's going to be more than 10. >> More than 10? >> I think it's going to be more than 10 because they can't I mean they're testing this already a lot. They're giving it to employees a lot so let's see. I think it's going to be more than 10 and you know one of the biggest traps for investors is always to look at something and extrapolate from the past. That's exactly the problem. We all expected exponential growth last year when they launched then it was super flat and now we're adjusting expectations for it to staying flat which of course is wrong. So the question is at what point is it wrong? And we have to expect at some point it's wrong and we have to expect that point being sooner than later. You know so I think this is the one of the biggest problems with investors in innovation stocks that you tend to either extrapolate from your fantasies before any data is there or once the data is there you extrapolate from the data and that's both wrong. Cuz we're talking about innovation. You know it's like the turkey the famous the reverse the famous turkey chart. Do you know the turkey chart? >> No I don't. >> Elon retweeted it but it's a famous chart in investing. You have on the Y axis the weight of the turkey and on the X axis the time and there's this turkey sitting there looking at the chart and it goes up and up and up and up and says looking pretty good. You're going to be very fat for Christmas and then of course the Thanksgiving is tomorrow. So you know that's kind of the reverse of the innovation chart where it can go up but you know sometimes it's wrong. If you're a turkey and Thanksgiving is tomorrow, I would not extrapolate your weight for the next >> Okay, I I think I'm understanding what you're saying there. All right. Uh don't extrapolate too much out of all this, but uh progress is happening with Cybercabs and so >> to think in first principles, right? This will be super scale. There will be tens of millions of robotaxis roaming the roads within probably the next 10 years, but definitely in the next 15 years. That is what I 100% believe. And the question is, how do you get from here to tens of millions? Not at the pace we are going right now. So, there will be a point where there is an inflection point. When is this point? Well, it's either version 15, which we now have, or it's a little in version 15.5 and AI 4.5, which we also have in December, I think. I have to look into that. Uh or it's AI 5, I don't think so. So, it's now. That's what I think. Not now now, but it's like somewhere in the next 6 months. >> By the way, I wanted to uh explain something that I think is important that you and I both understand in the audience, is that remember how we initially or a week ago we said, "Hey, there's 2,000 Cybercabs out there right now." We can estimate it's around 2,000, probably somewhere around that number. And so, therefore, how many Cybercabs will be in, you know, service by the end of this year? You actually can't take just those 2,000. I was Genma and I were chatting with each other and he explained his thinking. About a thousand plus of them are probably being used with steering wheels to do validation testing. And they probably won't try to convert them and make them put them to service. They'll always need validation testing for new cities, new states, and so forth. So, maybe assume that a thousand plus of those will never be put in. The others, they'll just convert and they'll use them, but not all 2,000. I thought that was uh an important point to consider. Yeah. >> Well, but I think also we will have probably 2,000 run rate in September. >> Yeah, sure. It could be. Depends on how they dial it in and out, right? Yeah. >> Yeah, so there's absolutely no problem on any reasonable trajectory, even if you take out 1,000 of the steering wheel, you would get to 10,000 plus by December if it's just about scaling. Of course, the question is, can they do this or not? And we will see very soon. >> We got news from Germany. Brandenburg is saying that they actually are talking to Tesla about having autonomous shuttles. This is a news article here. A Brand- Brandenburg's Transport Minister Robert Kram back Kram back confirms that his ministry is currently in discussions with Tesla about driverless vehicles. Autonomous shuttles are to be integrated into the existing on-demand bus system in the future, especially in rural areas. Kram back highlights a specific problem. In some regions, a regular bus doesn't run at all due to low demand or only twice a day. Same time, there's a shortage of drivers. As soon as the necessary legal approvals and permits are in place, he can very well imagine a comprehensive deployment of autonomous shuttles in rural Brandenburg. So, we've got nothing here. We don't know that this is really happening or not. But the fact is that Transport Minister is talking to Tesla, and he's a Transport Minister. So, that's the the whole point. Um and this is Brandenburg is kind of like surrounds Berlin. So, that's why it's kind of interesting and important. And I just think that if if Transport the Germany Transport Ministry is saying this, it it kind of makes it sound like that um it's not a it's not a done it's not over for Tesla Giga Factory to be approved in >> No, absolutely not. I I think it's important that I covered this in depth yesterday. You can check it out on my channel. So, we went deep dive, had a great discussion with the viewers, but I also reported on the facts on the ground. So, this is definitely serious. We have to understand that the Minister of Transportation of Brandenburg, which which a important state for those interested in history. This is West Prussia. So, this used to be very important state. And um it's not West Prussia, whatever. It's like the western most western part of Prussia. So, uh he's not in charge of approving FSD. That's a different thing. But, they already you know, it it has an influence on the other guys because states are very important like in the United States, these states in Germany, 16 states. And they have their own government is the same as in the United States. They have governors or minister presidents. And they have the minis- ministers and this minister of transport, they're in charge of looking at how do you provide transportation to the population? And one thing in Europe, that's I think maybe bigger than the United States, is that you have to provide public transport to remote areas. And you normally have these collection buses, right? You call in and say, "I'm here. I want to get picked up." And then they collect some and then there's a custom bus sent to you to ensure everyone has a bus. I think it's a little less uh the case in the United States. I heard from a viewer yesterday that this he also had this in Portland in Oregon or somewhere around Portland. And the thing is this is very costly for the government to do, right? Because they need to maintain these buses, they need to have the call centers and then they need to send them out and it's not very it's very not profitable. It's a huge loss business. But, they do it for the population. And I took a deep dive into what the total addressable market is for this. And just that remote area thing is roughly 2 million robotaxis in the United States and Europe. You need 2 million robotaxis on very conservative assumptions that this population in average takes one trip per week, which is not realistic. They're taking more trips. One trip per week and uh 2 million robotaxis, tam, right there. Uh and we have to understand that this business would be definitely heavily subsidized by the government. Right? So, you Tesla would offer probably rides for 30 cents a mile or something. Depends. 20 cents a mile and 80 cents are paid for by the government. Uh because it would be cheaper for the government than actually doing what they do right now. So, they save money. The population gets way better service. Like on-demand robo-taxis. And I think it's super and I think I could be off by a factor of 100 or 200% because if they take one or two two or three trips, then you have it per week. In average per capita. So. Uh I think very interesting. Not like a game-changing thing, but the fact that the Germans are looking into that. Uh if one does it, then the other states will follow very soon and then the other Europeans will follow and Europe has 120 million people in rural areas. And the US roughly 50 million in reasonably rural areas that are not too far out. >> Shocking that number you came up with. 2 million robo-taxis needed. >> Yes. >> Wow. >> Tam, if they would if they would provide it to everyone. >> Yeah, yeah, yeah. But it's I mean, okay, so okay, he's not the FSD the guy in charge of approving FSD supervised, but he's in charge of, you know, wanting to implement robo-taxis. And so, that's just good news. You have a transport minister who seems to be proposing this and you can see the >> right? You have to always consider it's not some German minister somewhere deciding on FSD. He can't just annoy 16, you know, state ministers. So, if they say, "Are you crazy? What are you doing?" he is in trouble. So, you know, this is all connected. This is power and this is a powerful guy. And he says this could be great solution. Let's start doing pilots and looking into that. Well, whenever they can do pilots. So, this is It's building. I mean, we know how politics works, right? You know nothing is done in isolation. This is in coordination with everyone. >> Okay. The latest data I remember is somewhere in October, first week of October, maybe October 8th, I want to say, is the date when the uh they're going to vote in Europe uh European Union is going to vote whether or not FSD supervised is going to be approved or not. Okay. Uh that is progress for that. And then now we've got Giga Texas Optimus factory. Thank you to Joe Techmer. He did a 360° flyover. >> one comment, Herbert. Just how high the stakes are. I think the reason why Tesla will not go all out in Giga like a thousand cyber caps in September is exactly that. Because the Europeans vote. And the best win you can have is we rolled it out, the Americans are doing it, it's flawless, and works on a small scale. Damn, we need to vote yes. So you it's very good to have it live. But it would be dis- disastrous to have a scandal. So you need to like, you know, thread the line and and and make sure because this is a very important vote. If it goes wrong, they can still work with the individual countries. But if it goes right, it would be huge. Cuz then it's it's cleared in Europe. >> Yep, understood. Yeah. Okay, so Giga Texas Optimus. Thank you Joe Techmer. He's basically saying that if you take a look at this, the foundation was just dirt in early March. Just a few months ago. And he thinks that it's going to actually um I think he said yeah, 6 to 8 months. Another month of construction of Giga Texas Optimus factory. So let's watch a time lapse showing progress from the beginning to present day. Um over the first 5 months. And then that this place this pace, I estimate there are at least 6 to 8 months yet. And then we're going to have the full structure. This is the Optimus factory that's supposed to produce 10 million per year Optimus robots. So, having it built this fast is pretty incredible. So, let's take a look. Yeah, you know I think we'll get jump to the time-lapse video. So, if that's just yeah, 5 months later this is where we're at now. Yeah. This is March. April. >> Yeah, it's I mean, this is a big factory, nothing compared to Tera fab, but very big. >> Let's jump to the >> I will actually have a video today to do a little deep dive into Optimus because there is an interesting commentary out by Jason Calacanis. I don't know if you know you saw that. I'm going to cover that today. But Jason had a visit to the Optimus factory. >> That was a long time ago. This week? >> I think this is I think again I have to look into that. Was it the old >> It was a long time ago. >> But he said this is like >> Yeah. >> They are absolutely leading. There is no competition. There will be billions of these things. So, that's very interesting. >> Yeah, just confirm that that was new because he had visited months ago. But yes, it's Jason though. We don't know. >> [laughter] >> He could be like, "Oh, I think it's so cool." >> I have to research. I mean, it says it was today, but who knows? >> Yeah, these people, they always post it and say, "Just now." Okay, here we go. This is um JP Morgan. Okay, bullish on SpaceX. Why? Because of Grok. Grok momentum. JP Morgan reiterated an overweight rating and $240 price target on SpaceX citing growing confidence in Grok's AI prospects. Let's see. I have I of course the SpaceX acquisition cursor was such a big deal and it was so important. You highlighted that a month ago. You said this is such an important thing that they did. Now it only generates $4 billion in ARR, but 75% of businesses um with 75% from businesses. So that's the key thing. They have already relationships with corporations to buy them. But Cursor came out with Grok um with a Grok bot and that's just killing it out there. And then of course um Grok build and Grok itself is making waves and they're doing really well. So they're very um very bullish on this. Now the show we'll do tomorrow is going to talk about the stock price and why you're actually pretty bullish about SpaceX, but um yeah, just speak a little bit about Cursor and um what you're seeing. >> I will now test out Grok bot. I didn't do it yet. Um but I will do it now probably this week. But I dug into it and it looks tremendous. I think they did a tremendous job in designing a product that's smarter than the other products cuz it makes it much more co-workers. So you have on the left side your panel and you put in your Grok bots and each Grok bot has a role. We designed something similar for Pioneer Lands, but of course with less money. And uh the idea is to structure your AI into co-workers certain tasks or competencies. And then you have multiple of these Grok bots and they have basically their own laptops, virtual laptops. So they can browse the internet, they can log into LinkedIn into all your stuff. And they basically, you know, can tell you, "Oh, Herbert, I want to use your LinkedIn. Can you log into my browser?" So I'm always logged in and then they're logged in. And they can work on this. It's a little scary. But of course it's a productivity superpower. Plus that thing seems to be very intelligent, of course. But as I always said, it's about the hardness and the intelligence. It's about the intelligence, but then it's also about, you know, how does it work? Is it seamless? Can you just click on it and say, "Do these things?" and it does it. So, uh on a meta level, what it proves is that this Grok team is just killing it. And the Grok team is extremely good, as I always said, in productization. They understand hardness and productization better than anyone else. And I think the other team, the Grok team in SpaceX, they understand cluster compute clusters and training power. So, it's a match made in heaven. I like the the takeaway here is between China and Grok, I am extremely bearish on Anthropic and OpenAI. That's the takeaway. >> We'll talk more about it tomorrow, but I've been using Grok bot now, and I've been a early user of Open Claw, which are agents. These are not just LLMs that you ask questions for, but you actually use them. And big difference, huge difference. I mean, Open Claw, I was a big big power user of that, and I found it to be very valuable. I was a big proponent of it, but it was early beta. Broke breaks all time. I had it restricted to my own computer, cuz you don't want it to go crazy, and you don't know what it's going to be able to do. And I gave it jobs, and it would do these jobs, and it would do it fine, and then it would break, and I would have to fix it, and I would it would take me an hour or two hours to get it fixed. Implemented Grok bot, and like you say, the user interface is designed for regular consumers, super easy, and several reasons. One is it's no longer just restricted to your computer, but you they will give you cloud access. Now, there was versions of Open Claw you could do that was cloud, but I wouldn't trust anybody. I kind of like went ahead and trusted XAI. And maybe I I will see what happens, but I am trusting them. So, it's always on and so you can close your laptop, your computer, it doesn't matter. It's using its own compute and it's running everything on their compute. And then just easy to use. And it it can like you say, it can access more um sites, more services that you're already logged into, that you've got an access to. So, you it's just easier to just let them handle everything. So, Okay, we'll see what happens, but it has taken off. People are very excited about Grokbot. And then they just introduced a new feature where you like you can share a Grokbot. So, if I created a bot agent and I trained it and I have a certain way, I can just send it to you, Joe. And now you've got it. And now these are the little things like this that >> Oh, sorry. >> They're the little things like this that that grow that Open Claude could have done but didn't. But if they if you can do this, share a agent with somebody else, that's going to go viral. Yeah. >> Yes, and I also think given how much money is in this game, how all decisive this whole technology is, the hardest technology, Anthropic and Open AI have messed up a little bit and Google anyway, but Google is out anyway. So, you know, what have we seen over the last year, 2 years? Like what did they these people do? I mean, yeah, they innovated a little bit, but the interface is lame. I'm still every time I want to do I'm stuck in the stupid chat. I mean, today I was like ChatGPT did something nice and then I said, "Okay." And they give me the file. I need to click download it, download it, I open it, open it in Excel. Like how do I get into Google Sheets? All these stupid little things and it can't do Google Sheets like there are many, many problems once you want to use it like a normal human being. And that is I said it very early on that I think the Cursor team is the best. It's like the perfect compliment. Because you want a product team that understands these things. How hard can it be? Just talk to users. >> Yeah. I I've I use Claude code work quite a bit. Uh sorry, Claude code quite a bit. That's easy, but um I could never figure out how do you use Claude code work, which is what they supposedly the agent that's supposed to their version of the open clause and it just couldn't figure it out. So, anyways, Claude uh sorry, um um Grok bot seems to have taken off. We'll see you know, it's early days. We don't know, but we'll see. So, anyways, let's talk about SpaceX uh orbital data compute and here you got Nvidia announcing that they've already designed their the first CPU built for agents. It's going to work at scale. They're uh SpaceX is deploying Nvidia's Vera uh chip to accelerate the orchestration, code execution, and data processing that powers this next gen of agentic AI keeping GPUs fed and agents acting fast. Gigawatt AI factories to orbit, one Nvidia architecture everywhere. And Elon replied saying SpaceX in partnership with Nvidia has designed a space optimized Vera Rubin and VL72 system for launch to orbit Q4 next year with significant scale in 2028. Elon said, "Our design significantly simpler, lower cost, denser, and lighter than a traditional rocket." So, they've worked together to design this new chip that is space optimized. Um and uh yeah, so they plan SpaceX plans to expand its AI infrastructure behind Grok on Nvidia's Vera Rubin. They've already announced that for the first gen Starlink satellite. Uh they're and SpaceX is moving beyond the AI factories on Earth. They're going to build it on orbit. And the next uh the first gen Starlink AI satellite will be based on this Nvidia Vera Rubin scale rack scale system. So, they seem to be at least they made the announcements. At least that's the step today. >> I mean, not surprising but very significant. Because again, I also said early on that these satellites are overestimated in their complexity by the market. I said right away they're not complicated. They're going to just do it and then Elon confirmed that and now we are confirming it even more. So just to be clear, we now have a custom NVL 72 rack which is like the flagship that this is the god of racks. This is how I think 12 terarubens or something where you need these 240 kilowatt design satellites that Elon announced exactly for that rack all optimized. It's very clear what we do here. It is optimized for one rack per satellite. They will be laser linked into any cluster you want. Worse for training, much worse in terms of speed for big clusters but perfect for inference. Actually, same speed as a terrestrial data center for inference. And of course tremendous cost advantage like cost and and speed advantage. You can just build infinity inference compute now. And a lot of people thought that's pie in the sky, no pun intended. I told everyone I think we will have a gigawatt in space by 2029 and then five to 10 x every year. It's going to be nuts. I mean this is why I'm bullish on SpaceX strategically. I'm also bullish on SpaceX tactically because of terrestrial compute so it's a double bull. And it's one of these uh I love it because I I heard Chris Camillo who I really like. I think he's one of the smartest dudes out there but he also got it he gets it wrong. He says 1.5 trillion. He was in SpaceX at 30 billion. So he was an early investor so he's happy but he says I don't see there's too much fantasy. 1.5 trillion, this is too crazy. But if you take a step back, first principle, take out your Google Sheet, or go to pioneerlands.org and download the model from there, the financial model for Space X. It's going to be live this week. Um just plug in the numbers. I I don't know why it's like these are crazy numbers. 1.5 trillion is not a lot of money if you just bring in 100 billion in earnings and then 200 billion and then a trillion. Right? So, I mean don't ask if that's a high valuation. Look at what's going to happen. And then reason if that can happen. But, I mean Jensen is not a dummy. Elon is not a dummy. These are two people who are not dummies. If they announce this wreck is coming, the wreck is coming. If you look at our model, you will see the weight is the absolute key for this whole economic thing. Like how heavy are these things because that's the entire lift and install cost. And I don't know the exact numbers here, uh how much weight reduction, but I mean they are not dummies. They're going to design something smart. And the fact that now Nvidia is more and more all in the fact that Elon is also smart enough to understand well, we are not getting around Nvidia. We are doing deals here, and and Nvidia does all these super smart things locking in capital markets for financing of compute and the compute standardization that's being financed is all Nvidia. You know, they are financing you know, fungible B200 fungible very Rubens, so he locks in the entire capital market into Nvidia platforms. Anyway, that's why Elon likes this whole thing, and I think they will have their satellite ready by Q4. And then they will launch them. >> Mhm. >> And then they will scale them. And so, in 2028, we will see that at scale, and I think we hit a gigawatt >> Yep. >> by 2029. >> We'll see. Well, I mean there's always Elon time frame, and it's all about time. Time frame. >> Yeah, but I also tweeted I this time I'm betting that Elon keeps the timeline. Because this is different. This is not robo taxi. This is infinitely easier than robo taxi. This is like already perfectly planned. It's not Optimus. >> Yeah, the the data set this this rack that they're talking about is not just for orbit. They're going to use it terrestrial first. And so this is something that they're very comfortable with building data centers with new racks. They build it, they build it, build it, they launch it. Orbit terrestrial first, figure out all the problems over the next year. By the time Q4 comes when they, you know, think that they're ready. It's more chance than not. Like you say, it's much more >> But also the funny thing is these people who say this whole space AI is crazy cuckoo land are the same people who would say today it's cuckoo to have 10,000 satellites in space that do communications. >> Oh, and that's already happening. >> don't know that it's already there. They don't understand this whole thing. >> The other thing now, the last story here is Terafab. Again, another one which is, yes, this is going to take many, many years. It's going to take a lot longer than people realize. It's a big endeavor. This is uh hard to do. But they've already started. So here's the very first infrastructure project already installed. That was fast. Joe Tech Mar said, "Terafab already has its first infrastructure project installed. It's a Starlink ground station." What is this? You may ask. A Starlink ground station or gateway is a terrestrial facility with multiple satellite dishes that connect SpaceX Leo satellite constellation. Starbase has one. The Bastrop Starlink factory has one. And now Terafab has one. So if you take close look, there they are. Those little um You know, Starlinks. Yeah. So >> Yeah, but just to comment on this uh thing that's, you know, some people say Joe is just a fanboy. He thinks Elon is always winning when he's clearly sometimes failing. For me, Terafab is a totally different animal than the AI satellite. I think the AI satellite sounds insane, but they will absolutely nail it in time and will be insane and will be faster than people think. I think on Terafab it's the total opposite. I think Terafab, even Elon understands this is an interesting endeavor because Terafab is much more a business strategic tool than a thing, than a factory. Because the idea that you're building Terafab and then producing chips is stupid. You are not going to make this happen this way because you have an entire giant industry uh led by Jensen Huang that does the same. And these people are not going to stand by and allow this to happen and just see their market disappear. And I think Elon 1 million percent knows that. I think Terafab is is a forcing function to make sure everything happens the way Elon needs it to happen even if in the end this thing will be owned and operated by Nvidia or whoever. So, I think Terafab is more like dudes. We are going to do this. There will be all these chips. We are going to build this thing now, but what's inside this thing we will see in 5 years because everything else would be insane. Like there are so many moving parts and now Nvidia integrated Grok, like Grok with a Q. There is Cerebrus. There's like insane innovation happening of very smart people. And I think Elon is a genius again. He says, "I know. I I don't think I can beat Jensen at his own game, obviously, but I can just build a giant Terafab factory and say, "We are going to produce these chips." Who's we? We will see. I don't care. Someone. I think that is the strategy of Terafab. Because that stuff is actually complicated with massive competition and the smartest people in the world.
