[music] So yesterday, Doge designer posted breaking SpaceX has paid Grimes County $10 million ahead of schedule under its terraab tax agreement. A major step forward for the proposed project. It equals nearly 40% of the county's expected 26.5 million in property tax revenue for all of 2026. County leaders may use the money for infrastructure, employee pay, and retention. SpaceX and Terrafab representatives are scheduled for a Q&A at the August 5th Commissioner Court meeting, which already happened. And the broader Terrafab project could eventually involve up to $119 billion in investment. And we learned at the Grimes County Commissioner's Court that SpaceX will pay Grimes County $20 million a year for 35 years, a total of $710 million. And SpaceX will still pay county taxes just at a reduced rate. Now, if you're like, well, is this all true? This is just some post on X. I think we can confirm that that is true because Elon responded saying >> terraab and that's the reason why they're paying Grimes County all of this money because they are going to build just the largest thing that we've ever built pretty much. >> Yeah. I mean it was really fun to watch the I can't believe I'm saying it was fun to watch a county commissioners meeting but it actually was because Terapab representatives were there and they talked about the project. I mean I learned some stuff like 7.2 million people live less than an hour away. One of the reasons they picked this area is they need employees. They're going to need 3,000 permanent job employees. Everybody from janitors to the most technical staff in the world. And it's going to take thousands and thousands of construction jobs to build this huge plant, which is 100 million square ft on 3,000 acres. 3,000 acres is what the plant's going to take up. It's actually on a 13,000 acre site, but the building itself will be 3,000 acres. And just in case you're wondering, an acre is what a man and a >> mule >> mule can plow in a day. >> Yeah. So that would >> that's 40,000 ft. The other thing is here, I didn't know this, but this used to be a brownfield site. There used to be a former coal plant here, which means that this is a huge improvement over what was there. And the nice thing is it already had really good grid connections and stuff. So this is uh really exciting that we now have confirmation that this is where Terra Fab is going. >> Now, when you design a building this big, you know, normally you level stuff. Do they have to take into account the curvature of the earth? >> I don't know. That's I know, right? It's beyond me. Tesla Mega Pack posted, "Mega 3 is officially rolling off the line in our newest mega factory in Brookshire, Texas. The factory went from groundbreaking to operation in just 16 months and has a design capacity of 50 gatt hours a year dedicated to Mega 3." And Elon said, "Mega 3 starting production. It couldn't have been built in California. You don't understand enough space. California is very different than Texas. You have to take a long time. >> We got to do some environmental impact reports. So the charging company EVgo, which trades on NASDAQ under the ticker symbol EVgo, has partnered with Tesla to deploy hundreds of EVgo owned and branded V4 superchargers across US cities. EVGO has partnered under Tesla's Supercharger for business program. EVgo currently has about 5,000 charging stalls in operation at more than 12,200 locations across 47 states. Are they really all in operation? >> That's a good question. >> I'm sorry. >> That's that is good. >> I've been to a few of them. >> Good question. It's probably a lot of downtime, but EVgo has the third largest DC fast charging network in the US behind Tesla and Electrify America. >> So, can Tesla owners use these new EVGO branded superchargers? Yes, you'll be able to find them through invehicle navigation and in your trip planner. And most, if not all, EVgo supercharger locations will include Magic Dock. So both Teslas with Knack and non-Teslas with CCS can use them. >> Interesting. >> Yeah, it only took them like uh a decade from when they should have. >> Do you think their installation team is like we can just have Tesla do it now? >> So if you or someone you know lives in California and is interested in buying their first EV, listen up. California has a new EV incentive program called My First EV. And the Model 3 and the Model Y are eligible. The key here is that you must take delivery before the funds run out for this program. Okay, so when will the funds run out? Well, California pays $1,750 for each incentive. Tesla pays the other $1,750. California put $135.5 million into the fund and CARB now estimates that this is good for 73,000 vehicles or so. The program started on Monday, August 3rd. So, the quicker the better. Yeah. Go. Tesla got their design patent approved for the Tesla Robo Van or Robovven on Tuesday. US design patent number USD1138869S. The patent lists Frowns von Holtzhousen, Julian Bilau, Ian Kettle, and Joseph Robinson as the designers. The application was filed in October of 2024. >> It does look like a bread box when you draw it out. It does. And Neurlink, the brain interface company, also received two patents recently. >> This one for automatic cranottomy and bone work via milling, force sensing, and impedance sensing is basically the machine that cuts the hole in the cranium. >> Yeah, it's pretty complicated because it's a CNC milling machine. And if anyone knows about those, they're dangerous and it's going to be attached to your head. >> IT'S MY HEAD. >> IT has a high-speed spindle and an endmill that has bio impedance circuits that can measure resistance and tell it when it has cut through the dense bone layers and gotten to the soft dura layer, which it's also going to cut. But I mean, come on. This isn't brain surgery. Oh, wait. It is. Neuralink also received US patent number 12688941B2 on July 21st for real-time neural spike detection. Yeah, basically a tiny computer chip that can instantly tell when a brain cell fires. And I just think that it's funny that Elon is doing both brain surgery and rocket science better than anyone that has ever done either of those two things. And people still want to call him dumb. >> These are people who usually don't understand the brain surgery nor the rocket science. That's true. You can usually ask them. you. They go, "Oh, Elon's dumb." And you're like, "Oh, so tell me about Neuralink." Most of them. >> I don't know what Neuralink is. >> All right, it's time for the Cybertruck roundup. Yeehaw. >> The Cybertruck roundup. Now, I can't remember if we reported on this next story on Patreon bonus stories or here on TTN last week, but basically Tesla is suing one of their Cybertruck suppliers named Angstrom Automotive, right? Because Angstrom bought Anderton Castings, which had been supplying Tesla with aluminum diecast parts for the Cybertruck and some Model Y components for years out of its plant in Troy, Texas. Yeah. And then in July, Angstrom told Tesla it planned to shut down the Troy plant and refused to release Tesla's custom tooling unless Tesla paid an extra $250,000 per week. >> Are you kidding me? >> Tesla then sued to get these valuable tools back because it's affecting Cybertruck production. Well, on Tuesday, US District Judge Christopher R. Wolf granted Tesla a temporary restraining order in writ of repleven which I've never heard of before in its dispute with Angstrom Automotive. The order authorizes Tesla to enter the suppliers facility in Troy, Texas and retrieve its own Cybert truck tooling and related equipment that Angstrom had been withholding. How unprofessional, you know, right? It's kind of like if it's like if your your neighbor borrowed your lawn mower and then you're like, "Can I have my lawn mower back?" And they're like, "No." Well, it's kind of like if your girlfriend got a corporate takeover and then they wouldn't give you your sweatpants back. What? I guess that doesn't that one doesn't work as well. All right, it's time for some SpaceX news. So, there was the SpaceX Q2 earnings call and I just thought we could talk about a few of the points that caught us. So, we're going to talk about more of this on Investor Club today. But first of all, we heard that Starship could be caught on the next flight as long as regulators allow it. So, that's going to be super fun. It could be both Starship and the booster caught on the next flight. So, that Wow. He at least said that will happen by the end of the year. So, that's exciting. >> So, you're telling me there's a chance? And we're going to have the next flight by the end of this month, I believe. So, wow, things are happening fast. Of course, uh we heard that Grock 4.7 is just a few weeks from today and Grock 5 when it comes out, hopefully by the end of this year, would have all the data that SpaceX produced and will become the best engineering AI model according to Elon. That's exciting. >> Excellent. >> They should have 2 gawatt of compute by the end of this year and close to 10 gawatt of compute. And Elon announced that basically, I think they're going to exclusively be building their compute on Nvidia chips. Mhm. >> So that's really cool. >> They're going to start their Star Mind satellite launches next year. >> Yeah, that's super exciting. >> That is the AI in space. They're going to start doing it next year. Yeah. With Nvidia chips. So that's really cool. Gwen Shotwell, the president of SpaceX, was on there to talk about the fact that their ARPO or their average revenue per user is staying pretty solid at $66 a month. They have 10,200 satellites in space right now with 800 terabyts of capacity and that's before the V3 satellite gets launched. That's super exciting. They have six billion dollars in government contracts that were awarded just in Q2. And the CFO mentioned that within the first few weeks of this Q3, they've contracted an additional 6 months at $6.7 billion in cloud service revenue starting in October. Yeah. So Elon said that basically by the end of this year they should have a hundred billion in ARR. That is annualized revenue which he said basically that's if we do nothing. That's incredible. >> During the Q&A we heard some little tidbits I thought were fun. The aviation industry basically they're only like 10% in on the aviation industry and they think there's a lot more to go >> for Starlink. >> Yeah. Yeah. They've never lost an enterprise customer. So once they've gotten one they've stuck with them which is really amazing. >> It makes sense. >> And they're super bullish on government and maritime. I mean, these are places that they've already started a 4A into, but Maritime has been pretty small and now it's getting to the point where it's very affordable. So, that's that's cool to hear. And Elon said they basically focusing on their sales teams going out and having to educate enterprises on the fact that their uptime and their bandwidth with Starlink is so good because in the early days it wasn't so great. And he thinks that a lot of them kind of thought that's what it always was. So, they're now having to go back and re-educate them like no, you can use this as your primary internet, >> right? He also said that they're going to be building out about 15 gawatts of not AI, but power and cooling for AI by the end of next year. So basically, they have way more cooling and power than they need. So as they get the chips, they can get them running. And he was pointing out the fact that SpaceX is so good at building stuff way more complicated than this that building AI compute on Earth is like easy peasy. Guess compared to a satellite, it's uh not so bad. Of course, he talked about robots on the moon, and he said that when they build out robots on the moon, we're going to get to 1,000x the economy of Earth, potentially 1 millionx the economies of Earth, especially when those factories start firing up, which is crazy cuz the moon's tiny. And Elon says that during their IPO, they said that they might get to 1 trillion in revenue by 2031. They've now moved that up to 2030. >> Nice. >> Going the opposite way that Elon usually goes. That's great. And going back to the fact that their SpaceX engineers are so smart, he said it's kind of like the New York Yankees playing a little league team that rockets are so much harder than AI data centers. So I just thought that was a great analogy that we think it's hard to do an AI data center. He's like our SpaceX engineers are doing rockets which is way harder. He sees AI demand increasing 200% a year. They're going to have 10 times as many version 3 satellites as version two. Keep in mind there's already what 10,000 of them. So they're going to have 10 times as many and each of them is going to be 10 times better. Right? So, we're talking two orders of magnitude, more bandwidth, more power. It's just incredible. The thing that a lot of people are talking about is that Gwyn Shotwell mentioned that AT&T and Verizon and T-Mobile make up about $600 billion a year. And Gwyn said that they could take many of their customers. Yeah, we're going to talk about this on Investor Club uh because this is a piece that I think most people are missing because I think we get the satellites confused. We hear the V3 satellite, but there's also basically their nextG mobile satellite, and that's a hundred times better than their existing satellite, and that's going to start next year. So, a lot to talk about over there. I'm just so pumped about SpaceX, and now we have double the earnings calls to listen to and talk about every quarter. So, super exciting. I am just like pumped about SpaceX. In some more SpaceX news, Elon reposted this from SpaceX. Crew 13 completed their training in California this past week. So, what we're talking about here is that Falcon 9 is targeted to launch Dragon and the crew to the space station in September. So, that'll be a crude launch, which is always fun to watch. Now, on January 15th of 2025, Falcon 9 launched for the Firefly Blue Ghost mission. Well, yesterday morning, that Falcon 9 upper stage should have impacted with the lunar surface. We don't have video yet, but NASA's Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter was scheduled to actually obtain this, so we should be getting that in the next few days. We don't know what happened, but it hit the surface at about 5,400 mph. NASA administrator Jared Isaacman said, "For those interested in spent booster impacting the lunar surface, this rare occurrence has decades of history going back to the Apollo era, when NASA intentionally crashed spent stages into the moon for science and seismic research. The reality is that meteoroids strike the lunar surface hourly with impacts comparable to this upper stage occurring roughly every 6 days. The future lunar base will incorporate reusable spacecraft that not only deliver astronauts and payloads, but also become part of the infrastructure itself. >> Interesting. So, you're going to have a satellite on the ground. Yeah. Elon said, "SpaceX has committed to using NVIDIA GPUs exclusively because they are the best." Elon said, "I love futuristic art deco." Jonah Catz says, "The SpaceX mug with Mars on it, which terraforms green when hot water is added, has been a huge hit in my crowd." I got that mug and for the longest time I didn't know what was the big deal about the Mars on it until I poured some hot liquid into it.
